Mind mapping is a simple way to organise ideas visually, making it easier to think, plan, learn, and solve problems.
This one-hour introductory session is designed for complete beginners. No previous experience is required.
During the session, I will demonstrate how I personally use mind maps to organise information, clarify ideas, and break down complex topics into manageable pieces.
Together we will create a practical mind map around a personal goal, showing how a single idea can be expanded into actions, obstacles, resources, and next steps.
The session includes:
a short introduction to mind mapping
the basic principles of creating effective mind maps
a demonstration using a digital mind-mapping tool
a guided practical exercise based on a goal of your own
time for questions and discussion
One excellent free tool for creating digital mind maps is GitMind, which we'll use as an example during the session: https://gitmind.com
This is not a productivity masterclass or an advanced workshop. The aim is simply to become comfortable with a technique that can be used for planning projects, studying, brainstorming, problem-solving, and organising your thoughts.
Bring a notebook if you prefer drawing by hand, or a computer if you'd like to follow along digitally.
Sometimes a single page is all it takes to bring clarity to a complex idea.
